Hello from Tiled!
We’ve got some really exciting product updates for you. But don’t take our word for it, keep reading.
In the last month, Tiled has been working on features to give you more control in the microapp builder (i.e who remembers the tile flyout updates?).
Here are the latest and greatest features and updates you can expect in Tiled this month.
For those who love a crisp image, you can now upload SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) image assets to the builder. We are all about optimizing the microapp viewing experience and want to continue giving you the tools to do so.
If you haven’t started dancing in your seat, now is a perfect time!
SVGs have several benefits including better resolution, speed, and animation
• Lightweight SVGs translate to smaller and faster microapps, improving the downloading and viewing experience
• Flexibility of SVGs allows us to support animation within SVGs (can you say bonus feature!)
First, it’s probably a good idea to find yourself an SVG asset to use.
Once you have created an SVG asset in your design tool or searched the web for a free one, upload the image into the builder and drag it onto the canvas or for optimal experience add the image tile first. Boom! You have uploaded your first SVG asset. It is only up from here.
If you need to comply with EU regulations, specifically GDPR – we’ve got you covered. You now have the ability to enable a cookie consent experience. Basically, we are helping you abide by some rules if you are supposed to.
Well, if you don’t have to abide by EU rules and regulations, absolutely nothing.
If you do, then you can rely on a powerful and customizable user consent experience so that your microapp viewers can decide to opt-in and have their activity tracked in the microapp.
We created a step-by-step guide on how to set it up here → GDPR
For those of you who have used the (legacy) Script tile before, it was a little rough around the edges, but we are making up for it with this new and improved version. The Script tile is a great ‘low-code’ way to incorporate certain interactive elements into your microapp: think chat bots, pop-up forms or Lottie animation files.
Think of script as a way to add more bonus features to help bring a little magic to your microapps. Yay!
If you want to increase the level of interaction in a microapp by bringing animations, transitions, and dynamic elements you can now do so using the new Script tile.

If you have been trying to sync “a million” hotspots, fret no more! Keep your eye out for a new plugin version coming this month to help you get back to your creative flow.
Stay tuned for next month’s release notes to see what else is coming!
