Senior Product Manager

San Diego, CA or Remote

Who we are

At Tiled, we are building a communication platform and medium where designers and storytellers are free to create, and everyone can benefit from personalized, immersive experiences that enable deeper understanding and connection. The medium we're describing here is what we call a microapp. You can think of it as an immersive and interactive experience powered by a structured document. We believe what we're building is the beginning of a massive innovation wave, and we would love to see you ride it with us.

What is a microapp?

The opportunity

Tiled is looking for a creative, self-motivated, and highly collaborative Senior Product Manager with a user-first mindset to join our team of passionate people who are revolutionizing the world of interactive experiences.

As a Senior Product Manager at Tiled, your mission will be to unlock our next phase of innovation and growth by bringing the most compelling products to market. From inception to launch, you will work collaboratively with the rest of the organization through all aspects of the product management process. You will also inspire and energize teams across Tiled to define the product vision, evaluate product opportunities, analyze industry trends and customer and partner needs, and prioritize features and improvements. Your work will impact our strategy and will lead you to accomplish amazing things. Organizationally, you will be a member of the product organization (Product Management and Product Design) and will report to the VP of Product.

What you’ll do

You will be embedded into an extended product team typically composed of a product manager (you) a product designer and several engineers. As a team, you will be empowered to solve hard problems – customer problems and business problems – in ways that our customers love. You will be responsible for coming up with effective solutions that are:

  • Valuable: our customers choose to buy or use
  • Viable: the solution works within the many constraints of the business
  • Usable: our users can figure out how to use
  • Feasible: our engineers have the skills and technology to implement.

While the product designer is accountable for ensuring the solution is usable (and delightful), and the engineers are responsible for ensuring the solution is feasible (and performant), you will be accountable for ensuring the solution is both valuable and viable.

To be successful, you will demonstrate a deep knowledge of the various constraints of the business, of our users and customers, and the data about how our customers engage with our products. You will also be expected to track industry trends and the competitive landscape as they pertain to the product.

While each member of the extended product team (designer and engineers) may be accountable for a specific risk, we look for product managers who understand that consistent innovation results from each member of the product team contributing their passion and ideas. You will collaborate closely with the product designer and engineers to discover effective solutions and then work together to deliver those solutions to the market.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or relevant work experience preferred
  • 3-5 years of Product Management experience within an enterprise SaaS organization
  • Ability to translate uncertainty and ambiguity into clear, crisp plans
  • Ability to conceptualize ideas, define features, and prioritize a backlog of user stories
  • Ability to have conversations with engineers about technical matters including having an understanding of modern platforms and frameworks
  • Natural ability to make things happen around you. You manage project ambiguity, complexity, and interdependencies in an organized and structured way.
  • Be able to define and analyze metrics that inform the success of your product
  • Experience leading post-launch optimizations including developing testing strategies
  • Strong communication skills and intuition for communication strategy at every level -- within teams, within the company, to users, to press, and other audiences

Bonus points if you

  • You love the craft of building products just as much as you are obsessed with users and their experience
  • Have previously worked on mobile apps
  • Communicate in gifs and have a great sense of humor

Life at Tiled

A definition of balance from our CEO

While we take pride in our work ethic and drive towards the summit of our craft, we also take pride in knowing that we’re aligning our time and priorities with the ultimate summit, to be surrounded on all sides by those who we love and are loved by.

We believe that our relationships are the primary motivator and that at the summit of life, the relationships that we’ve fostered will be our greatest legacy. These relationships — our immediate and extended families, our friends, our communities, our churches, our colleagues — are the people (and furry friends) we intersect with daily. Call it family. Call it tribe. Whatever it is, we support the people that support us, and we believe achieving balance between work and family allows us to be our best selves and reach life’s summits.

Time is the most valuable thing we have. We seek to spend our time with gratitude in ways that feel meaningful as we build towards our goals at work and at home. Spending time to serve and contribute to the world around us is as vital to our pursuits as our personal and strategic goals.
